ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
2IC Housekeeper is responsible for seeing to the needs of in-house guests and villa owner’s alike through the provision of cleaning services, as well as supervising general housekeeping staff. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
* Departure clean – strip, clean and prepare villas following a guest departure
* Service Clean – strip, clean and prepare villas as part of service regime for in-house guests
* Common Areas – Clean as instructed by management. Ensure common areas are kept to standard.
* Set up and remove rental equipment, such as cots and rollaway beds
* Supervise staff and ensure that all cleans are up to Niramaya standards
* Sign-off on villas post cleaning. Organise remedial work as and when required.
* Act as head housekeeper when head housekeeper is not on-site.
* Liaise with reception with regards to villa status, arrivals, departures and room changes.
* Order linen and maintain stock levels, as required.
* Ensure housekeeping stock rooms and offices are well maintained and kept to standard.
* Monitor stock usage to minimize waste and control costs.
* Report maintenance issues as and when they arise.
* Organise and plan for rostering of housekeeping staff, as and when directed by head housekeeper.
* Hiring and removing general housekeeping staff, as required and as directed by the head housekeeper.
* Motivate staff to achieve and maintain company standards.
* Adhere to all OH & S standards. Adhere to all Niramaya management rules and service standards
* Follow the Niramaya uniform policy.
* Adhere to guest requests as instructed by management
* Other duties as required by management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Preferred, but not essential: Currently studying towards qualification in business &/or tourism.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Ability to clean at a 5 star level. Exceptional customer service skills. Ability to stay calm under pressure. Ability to self- motivate and time manage. Ability to work without supervision. Ability to work well with others. Experience supervising other staff members. Experience hiring and disciplining other staff members. Ability to motivate others. Ability to train and mentor others.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
7 day roster, with early starts and late closing. Requires flexibility.
3 month periodic review
Sponsorship may be possible, based on experience and educational background (ie ability to meet immigration crieria)
